EFFICIENT SERVICE DELIVERY: SERVICOM HONOURS MANAGING DIRECTOR AND DESERVING STAFF OF AUTHORITY

The Servicom Committee of Ogun - Oshun River Basin Development Authority has honored the Managing Director/CEO, Otunba Engr. Olufemi Olayemi Odumosu, FNIWE FNAHS and other deserving members of staff at it one day Seminar and Recognition of Excellence programme with the theme "Service with Passion held on Wednesday 27th March 2024.

Speaking at the event, Managing Director/CEO, Otunba Olufemi Odumosu said Servicom is a compact agreement with Nigerians with the aim to improve service delivery in all Government establishments. He said 'Serving with Passion' as the theme of the event further emphasized the need to put extra efforts and enthusiasm in service delivery to all stakeholders in Ministry, Department and Agency in Nigeria.

He thanked the Organizers for recognizing hard work, commitment and dedication to duties in the Authority.

 

Odumosu said what the Committee has done is in line with the Honorable Minister's of Water Resources and Sanitation, Engr Prof. Joseph Utsev's directive of ensuring rewards for hard work and dedication to duties in the Ministry and its Agencies.

 

In a paper titled "Passion as key driver for quality service delivery delivered by the pioneer Nodal Officer and retired Director of the Authority, Mr Olufemi Dokunmu, he states the concept of passion in workplace as a strong feeling for or about something, which could be positive or negative, however dwelling on the positive side of it, Dokunmu described passion for work as being excited about what we do and further stated that qualities such as love and attraction; interest and curiosity to understand task, subject or issue; conceptualization of idea and others must be present in ensuring passion for work.

 

The Guest Speaker said one of the major values of passion for work is to achieve customer satisfaction and understanding, he also highlighted qualities of staff with passion to include: Determination and optimism to scale many challenges that may hamper service delivery, look for and offer solutions to challenges and use initiatives without always waiting for directives among others.

 

Recognition was given to deserving staff in the categories of the Best Messenger/Cleaner, won by Christiana Sedi; Outstanding Security Personnel, won by Lamidi Olayiwola; Most Punctual Male and Female staff on duty won by Olumayowa Ojo and Mrs Taiwo Olubukola Abiola respectively. Engr. Simon Fakayode was also honored for prompt treatment of files.


 The recognition was with certificates of merit, gifts and cash rewards.

 

Highlight of the occasion was the award of "Servicom Man of the year 2023" to MD/CEO, Otunba Engr. Olufemi Odumosu for his immense contribution to the success of Servicom activities in the Authority.

 

The occasion also provided opportunity to honour pioneer Nodal Officer and Guest Speaker of the day, Mr Olufemi Dokunmu as well the Executive Director (Engineering), Engr. Babalola Olatunji who was once a Chairman of the Committee.

 

Earlier in his welcome address, the Servicom Committee Chairman, Engr. Julius Araromi said the Committee put up the programme to sensitised  the workers of the need to serve in their various capacities with passion in order to improve service delivery.

 

He thanked members of the Committee, which includes Mrs Bukola Abass, Mr Adeniyi Saliu, Engr Mrs Okesade Risqot and Secretary of the Committee, Dolapo Okunowo for working tirelessly to ensure that Servicom work in the Authority

 

The programme was attended by Management, Staff and other stakeholders in the Authority's Servicom project.
