... As Monarch Says Ashiru Won't Compromise Standards
The Managing Director/CEO, Ogun-Oshun River Basin Development Authority, Engr. Dr. Adedeji Ashiru FNSE has reiterated the Federal Government's commitment to construct a small earth dam and irrigation projects in Iperu-Remo, Ogun State among other 7 dams and irrigations to be constructed to be constructed by the Federal Government in the Authority catchment area in South West of Nigeria.
Ashiru stated this when he paid a courtesy visit to the Alaperu of Iperu-Remo, Oba Adeleke Idowu Basibo.
He said the projects are part of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's cardinal policy for the provision of food sufficiency, all year round farming and creation of employment to the people of the town and the country in general.
Ashiru added that the dam apart from being the source of water for the all year round irrigation farming, would also serve as a source for the provision of portable water to the community and its environs.
Ashiru also informed the monarch that the Authority would also construct a mini-sport arena for the town which will serve as an avenue for recreation, relaxation and exercises for the community.
He assured Oba Basibo that the projects would commence soon, said part of the reason for the visit is for him and his team to see the proposed site of the projects.
In his response, Oba Basibo thanked the Managing Director for the visit and the numerous projects that are to be sited in the town.
Oba Basibo also thanked the President for the appointment of Ashiru as the Managing Director/ CEO of the Authority.
He said Ashiru's expertise and academic records has shown that his appointment is putting the right peg in the right hole.
Oba Basibo said that Ashiru is well known to him as a personality that does not compromise standards and believes that with his resume, he would take the Authority to a greater height.
The visit was rounded up with a visit and assessment of the locations where the projects would be sited and the proposed mini stadium.
