Engr. Babalola Olatunbosun OLATUNJI who hails from Agosasa in Ipokia Local Government Area of Ogun State was born on 20th September, 1968. He obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering from the Federal University of Technology, Akure in 1992. He further obtained a Master’s Degree in Environmental Engineering from the same University in the year 1997. He is a skilled Mining and Environmental Engineer with more than three decades of professional experience. He has garnered experience in various aspects of engineering practice over the years.

He joined Ogun-Oshun River Basin Development Authority, a Parastatal of the Federal Ministry of Water Resources in 2001 and rose through the ranks to the position of the Executive Director, Engineering in December, 2019. He also served as the Managing Director/CEO of the Authority in acting capacity between January 5th to January 15th in the year 2021 before the reappointment of the former Managing Director. His selfless and meritorious service however led to his reappointment to the same office of Executive Director Engineering in December, 2022, the office which he holds till date.

As the Executive Director of Engineering, he oversees activities in the Directorate which includes the Construction, Operation and Maintenance (COM), Hydrogeology and Irrigation departments of the Authority. These Departments are responsible for the Construction of Dams, Irrigation works, Erosion Control works, Water Supply schemes, Road construction works, Operation and Maintenance of equipment and construction of boreholes and water treatment processes.

Engr. Olatunji has excelled in the implementation of policies and mandates as approved by the Board and Ministry as a top management and Board member. He has served as the Chairman of the Partnership for Expanded Water Supply, Sanitation and Hygiene (PEWASH) and SERVICOM of the Authority and has developed and maintained extensively boreholes using solar systems including Village solar system (VILLASOL) supplying solar power.

Engr Olatunji is a COREN registered Engineer and a member of various professional bodies namely; the Nigerian Society of Engineers, Nigerian Institution of Water Engineers, Chartered Institute of Public Management, Council of Nigerian Mining Engineers and Geoscientists, Nigeria Association of Hydro-geologists and Nigerian Mining and Geosciences Society.

He has written and presented various technical papers in his contribution to knowledge and professional development and has kept himself abreast of his career by attending several seminars, workshops and Conferences both locally and Internationally.

Engr. Olatunji is a born Leader who is well appreciated by his subordinates for his selflessness and love towards all. He is an excellent achiever who has used his excellent critical thinking skills to identify alternative approaches to provide solutions to complex problems.
