The Managing Director/CEO of Ogun – Oshun River Basin Development Authority, (O-ORBDA), Engr. Dr. Adedeji Ashiru, FNSE, FNImechE, FNIWE has pledged support for the Authority’s pensioners.
Ashiru made this pledge at the end of the year party of the O- ORBDA pensioners held at the Authority’s headquarters, Abeokuta, where he disclosed the Authority’s plan to organize a yearly programme for the pensioners, especially on October 1 each year, being the International Day for Elderly Persons.
Represented by the Director, Legal Services of the Authority, Barr. Mrs. Judith Agu, the MD/CEO explained that the proposed programme would promote and cement the cordial relationship that had existed between the Authority and the pensioners who had laboured to take the Authority to the present great height.
Engr. Ashiru reiterated his mission at the Authority which among others is to contribute to its upliftment, the manifestation of which he said are the numerous developments being witnessed since his assumption of office about six months ago and enjoined the pensioners to always keep fit by engaging in regular exercises and ensure abstainance from diets capable of jeopardizing their health.
Earlier, in his address, the President of the Pensioners’ Association, Alhaji Alani Kafidipe commended the leadership style of the MD/CEO, acknowledging the various transformations being currently witnessed in the Authority, which were likened to happenings during the time of the pioneer General Manager of the Authority, Late Dr Lekan Are.
Alhaji Kafidipe seized the opportunity to appreciate Engr. Ashiru for his constant support for the Association, just as like the proverbial Oliver Twist expressed the hope for more of such support in the near future.
At the colourful event witnessed by the Assistant Director, Personnel, Comrade Oluwole Olatunbosun and the Head of Public Relations and Protocol, Mr. Adeniyi Saliu, the MD/CEO presented cash gift on behalf of the Pensioner Association to the members.
